Our Story
Patrick Walsh, founder of Provence Wine Imports Inc. was raised and educated in the French way of life and more specifically « Provençal », having lived his youth in Aix-en-Provence.
Growing up in the winemaking region of Provence, wine culture, knowledge and consumption are, have been and will continue to be part of his daily life in France.
With a dual citizenship, U.S. and French, born in Boston, MA, Patrick has the overview and benefits from the very way the American market functions but thinks it is important to discover and preserve a kind of French harmony through its flagship product and one of the pillars of its economy : wine.
His passion is simple - he is dedicated to bringing the finest wines to the tables of the most discerning clientele, which he has been doing in Boston with great success since 2017.
Patrick is always very happy to share his stories and expertise.
All our winemakers are known to us personally - we regard many of them as friends. And it is through these personal relationships that we are able to secure a wine list of exceptional quality.
We search for wine growers who own and tend their vineyards, farm their vineyards using sustainable, organic or biodynamic practices, are passionate in their zeal to make the best wines they can and are considered to be exemplary producers in the wine region of their terroir.
We import their wines, market them and distribute them to wholesalers throughout the United States.
Most of the wines found on our list are exclusive to Provence Wine Imports and many are limited in quantity.
We have been supplying Boston's on-trade since 2017. Our unique wine list, extensive knowledge and outstanding customer service mean that we are the wine supplier of choice for many of Boston's leading restaurants, clubs and bars.
Wine is an exploration of taste that begins with your first sip. It’s also a story, a tale that starts in the soil and ends in your glass. A good wine says something about its roots, about the “terroir”.
